Inland DFS-100 ReefKeeper Saw are back in stock!

We are proud to offer Inland DFS-100 ReefKeeper Saw  with discounts of 5% if you redeem the Facebook like coupon on our website $259.99 per unit with FREE SHIPPING and 259 incentive points and up at Vaquatics.net!

As seen in Reef Hobbyist Magazine! Coral fragging has just gotten easier with the ReefKeeper™ saw. It is made to meet the specific needs of Reef Aquarists:
  • Reduced Heat Transfer Yields More Viable Frags
Heat is the enemy when cutting corals; it destroys tissue and seriously affects viability, especially with sensitive species like chalice corals. The DFS-100 ReefKeeper Saw employs a continuously cooled narrow diamond blade to dramatically reduce heat transfer to the delicate tissue when cutting. Less heat means more viable frags can become healthy colonies to swap or sell.
  • Clearance to Handle Larger Specimens
Saw through materials as tall as 3 1/2" - something you can't do with cut-ff wheels, tile saws, or any other band saw. So go ahead, tackle that Tubastrea or Favites or any large specimen with confidence.
  • Narrow Cutting Path
Rotary tools and tile saws plow a wide swath through your valuable stock. The narrow diamond blade of the DFS-100 ReefKeeper Saw is removing the least possible amount of material as it cuts, resulting in less waste—up to three times less!

Coral fragging has just gotten easier with the ReefKeeper saw. It is made to meet the specific needs of Reef Aquarists.

We are proud to offer Ultra Amazon Zoanthid with discounts of 5% if you redeem the Facebook like coupon on our website $49.99 for 3-6 polyps plus shipping and 49 incentive points and up at Vaquatics.net!

**We are currently Fragging these and they will be ready in about 2 weeks**

Colony Polyp, Zoanthids are colonial animals with several individual polyps attached to a piece of live rock or coral rubble. They can consist of variety of colosr and their polyps have the ability to sting other polyps or corals. While the sting is not strong, they are semi-aggressive and need to have space between their colony and any neighbors.
Zoanthids are unique in that they incorporate sand and other small pieces of material into their tissue to help create their structure. In the wild, Zoanthids often occupy fringe environments (intertidal, back reef, other shallow areas, over dead corals), making them quite a hardy choice for the reef aquarist.

Coral Rx One Shot available at Vaquatics.net

We are proud to offer Coral Rx One Shot with discounts of 5% if you redeem the Facebook like coupon on our website  and 3 incentive points and up at Vaquatics.net!

  • Description

Coral Rx was developed in 2006 for two purposes: to treat corals suffering with parasites, and as a prophylactic measure to promote healthy corals before parasites or bacterial infections become harmful. Coral Rx is tough on parasites, yet gentle on your coral (contains no iodine or oxidizers) allowing you to be proactive in protecting your investment.

Coral Rx can be purchased in three different concentration levels: Coral Rx, Coral Rx Pro and Coral Rx Industrial. Coral Rx (8oz) is ideal for retail store sales, and produces approximately 12 gallons of coral dip. Coral Rx Pro (1oz & 4oz) is ideal for online orders to reduce shipping cost, and produces approximately 17 gallons and 66 gallons respectively.Coral Rx Industrial (8oz & 16 oz) is ideal for organizations caring for a large quantity of corals, and produces approximately 295 gallons and 590 gallons respectively.

    Independently Tested

Coral Rx was independently tested by Andrew Lynford, M.S. in Biology from Hofstra University. This investigation attempted to quantify the efficacy of three chemical flatworm controls: Flatworm Exit, Coral Rx, and Povidone. His research is available in a featured article published in Advanced Aquarist, April 2009. Below are excerpts of his findings:.

    • Coral Rx was the most effective treatment…

    • Coral Rx performed well as a coral dip, and it would be advantageous for coral aquaculturists, wholesalers, retailers, aquariums, and hobbyists to use this product when quarantining newly purchased corals.

    • Chemical treatments are utilized as a preventative protocol used to eradicate flatworms before they are introduced into an aquarium. These chemical treatments are referred to as a coral dips.

    • Quarantining corals and live rock with coral dips is the best way to deal with marine flatworms because it prevents their introduction, and circumvents the problems associated with convolutrilobid toxin release.

    • Harvesting coral reef taxa (species) to replace livestock lost through convolutriloba toxin release is environmentally costly, and should be prevented by using coral dips.

Coral Rx – a different type of coral dip

Coral Rx was designed by keeping the health of your coral in mind. Our proprietary blend of natural ingredients contains no iodine, which is known to stain corals, nor does Coral Rx contain oxidizers whose by-products are often toxic and continue to react with surrounding tissue. Independent research also questions the effectiveness of iodine treatments.  Please take a look at this feature article in Advanced Aquarist, April 2009.

Coral Rx removes many of the “hard to deal with” coral pests like Acropora-Eating FlatwormsMontipora-Eating Nudibranchs and Zoanthid-Eating Nudibranchs.

Promotes Coral Health – Coral Rx is hard on parasites yet easy on corals making it a perfect prophylactic treatment protecting your coral investment.  Whether or not you quarantine your corals before putting them in your aquarium, a dip in Coral Rx decreases the probability of adding a parasite into your aquarium eco-system.

    Usage

Coral Rx can be used in treating many types of live corals; soft, LPS and SPS. Coral Rx should be used in treating corals that have parasites or other bacterial infections. Additionally, it should be used as a prophylactic treatment before bringing live coral into your aquarium.

Coral Rx is effective in removing the following parasites:
    - Acropora Eating Flatworms (AEFW)
    - Montipora Eating Nudibranchs
    - Bristleworms
    - Zoanthid Eating Spiders
    - Red Flatworms

Also aids in the treatment of:
    - Filamentous Hair Algae
    - Rapid Tissue Necrosis (RTN)
    - Slow Tissue Necrosis (STN)
    - Bacterial Infections & More

Coral Rx should not be used on fish, shrimp, crabs, snails, clams or other invertebrates. We have not tested CoralRx's effectiveness on Acropora Red Bugs.

The Acan Brain Coral wakes up tired reef aquariums with a jolt of exhilarating orange or red coloration. This color morph of the popular large polyp stony (LPS) coral demonstrates the exceptional range of vivid coloration displayed by Acanthastrea echinata. The Acan Brain Coral boasts coloration inspired by pop-culture featuring contrasting gradients of teal, orange, and sometimes red. Intense pops of caffeine-induced coloration transforms barren regions of your substrate and other lack-luster regions of the reef aquarium with visual excitement.
Acanthastrea generally have large corallites (8-15mm) with small teeth or lobes on their septa, as well as well-developed columellae. In the wild, they're found mostly in shallow water to about 20m, often in protected areas like lagoons, forming colonies up to several meters across.
In the reef aquarium, Acanthastrea are incredibly hardy and fast growing, tolerating a wide variety of conditions including both low and moderate lighting and moderate water currents. They make ideal candidates for fragging at home since they have very distinct corallites (less risk of collateral damage!), amazing adaptability to lighting conditions, and rapid growth rates. Though tolerant of a wide range of aquarium conditions, the undemanding Acan Brain Coral will thrive in established reef aquariums with stable conditions.
