WHAT IS MEDIC?

Medic is a highly effective water conditioner used to control external fish parasites present in both marine and freshwater environments. It contains a reef-safe oxidizing agent and is particularly effective against: Marine Ich - Crytpocaryon irritans, Freshwater Ich - Ichthyophthirius, and Marine Velvet - Amyloodinium ocellatum.
Features
  • Completely reef-safe
  • Buffered to maintain physiological pH
  • Does not harm invertebrates
  • Does not harm nitrifying bacteria

HOW MEDIC WORKS:

Completely reef-safe, Bufferded to maintain physiological pH. Does not harm invertebrates and does not harm nitrifying bacteria. Many external fish parasites have very similar life cycles. In particular, these parasites have an "attached stage (trophonts), a "matured" stage (protomonts, a "reproductive" stage (tomonts), and a "free-swimming" stage (theronts/dinospores).
Most available treatments has do not target the free-swimming stage of the parasite which is one of the primarily difficulties in dealing with these problems. Research with dilated protozoans has shown that the "free-swimming" stage of parasites have remarkably consistent hatching times. We have engineered our product to be most efficient during this stage. Our conditioner targets the trophont stage of the parasite but is also disrupting the life cycle during the "free-swimming timeframe - when the oxidative component in the conditioner is particularly effective against theronts/dinospores.

AlgaGen PhycoPure Zooxanthellae and AlgaGen PhycoPure™ Reef Blend now available at Vaquatics.

We are proud to announce we now carry AlgaGen PhycoPure Zooxanthellae and AlgaGen PhycoPure Reef Blend!

Available for the first time ever: a multi-species, pure, live Zooxanthellae culture! PhycoPure(TM) Zooxanthellae is a blend of LIVE zooxanthellae assembled for use as an aid for marine reef aquarium corals and clams. Aquarists have reported great results ranging from coral recovery from stress events to enhanced overall coral and clam coloration.

Zooxanthellae are the symbiotic microalgae that live in the tissue of numerous corals and clams. They consume waste produced by their host, coral/clam, and in return produce carbon in the form of a sugar that feeds the host. It has been documented that there is an exchange of zooxanthellae between corals/clams and their environment.

All strains are aquacultured, pathogen free, and cleansed of excess nutrients. PhycoPure Zooxanthellae is cultured in purified natural Atlantic Ocean water and should be refrigerated. PhycoPure Zooxanthellae has no preservatives, is not subjected to harsh processing steps, and is batch processed to ensure quality.

Great results will happen when you routinely spot feed 2-3 times per week or broadcast feed 1-2 capfuls per 10 gallons. Whenever possible, it is best to spot feed corals and filter feeding inverts from a small syringe or baster.

PhycoPure is cultured in purified natural Atlantic Ocean water and should be refrigerated. PhycoPure has no preservatives, is not subjected to harsh processing steps and is batch processed to ensure quality.

PhycoPure Zooxanthellae is guaranteed to arrive alive but is exempt from our extended guarantee after their arrival.

PhycoPure Greenwater from AlgaGen is a brand new LIVE phytoplankton additive consisting only of live, pureNannochloropsis oculata microalgae. Aquarists already report great results feeding NEW PhycoPure Greenwater to zooplankton, rotifers, copepods, amphipods, corals, shrimp, feather dusters, clams and other filter feeders.

PhycoPure Greenwater is perfect blend for refugiums, reef tanks, rotifer cultures, zooplankton cultures, and to enrich breeding and rearing techniques employing greenwater methods.

PhycoPure Greenwater contains: Live Nannochloropsis oculata in treated natural ocean water (UV, carbon, ozone and chlorine).
